Australian Students Can't Be What They Can't See: Documentary Series Brings Local Entrepreneurs i

First Pivot and UnReel Films launches "See It. Be It." film series to inspire entrepreneurial thinking in primary and secondary schools.
MELBOURNE, Australia - s4story -- Melbourne, Australia – Most Australian students struggle to name local entrepreneurs, limiting their ability to see entrepreneurship as accessible and achievable. To address this gap, First Pivot has launched "See It. Be It."—a documentary series showcasing real Australian entrepreneurs, designed specifically for primary and secondary school students.
Produced in partnership with Unreel Films, the series features cinema-quality short films that bring the human stories behind business success into classrooms across Australia. In 2025, four documentaries were completed, and applications are now open for entrepreneurs who want their stories featured in the 2026 series.
"Research shows that early exposure to entrepreneurship has a lasting impact, similar to financial literacy," said Jim Schuman, CEO of First Pivot. "But younger students need more than business frameworks—they need to see relatable role models who demonstrate that entrepreneurship is accessible, regardless of age or background. That's exactly what 'See It. Be It.' delivers."

Unlike traditional business education, the series focuses on storytelling rather than theory. Primary and secondary students are still developing the cognitive and emotional capacities that underpin entrepreneurial thinking: focus, creativity, resilience, emotional regulation, and decision-making under uncertainty. Storytelling builds these foundational skills in ways that resonate with young learners.
The current series features entrepreneurs like Kai from Kaiko Fidgets, who started his social enterprise at age 11 after experiencing bullying, and other Australian founders who have built purpose-driven businesses. Each film is a character-driven story that highlights the "why" behind the business, not just the "how."
Unreel Films brings cinematic quality to each production, creating films that engage students emotionally while delivering educational value.
Australian entrepreneurs interested in participating can submit their stories at info@firstpivot.com.au.
