Nebraska Podcaster to Walk 50 Miles from Omaha to Lincoln to Keep Gina Bos's Story Alive

One step at a time, Joshua S. Kangley hopes to remind Nebraska that Regina Marie "Gina" Bos has not been forgotten.
LINCOLN, Neb. - s4story -- Joshua S. Kangley, host of Keeping the Light On: Nebraska's Missing Persons Podcast, will walk approximately 50 miles from Omaha to Lincoln October 15–17 to raise awareness for Regina Marie "Gina" Bos, who disappeared in 2000 and has never been found.
For Kangley, the walk is a personal commitment to keeping Bos's story alive.
"I've spent time telling Gina's story through my podcast, but I wanted to do something more — something tangible that demonstrates that she has not been forgotten," Kangley said. "She was a mother, a musician, a sister, and a person whose life matters. Her story deserves to be remembered, and her loved ones deserve answers."
The walk reflects the mission of Keeping the Light On, which shares the stories of Nebraska's missing people with compassion, respect, and a commitment to factual reporting.

"This walk is about Gina first and foremost, but it is also about every family still waiting for answers," Kangley said. "When someone goes missing, the world can move on, but their family doesn't get to move on in the same way. The questions remain. The hope remains."
Kangley hopes the effort will encourage people to learn Bos's story, responsibly share information, and remember other missing Nebraskans. The goal is awareness, not speculation, and anyone with relevant information is encouraged to come forward.
"If one person learns Gina's name for the first time, shares her story with someone else, or remembers something that could help investigators, then every step is worth it," Kangley said. "Sometimes, making a difference starts with simply refusing to forget."
Media are invited to follow the walk and attend its planned conclusion in Lincoln on October 17. Interviews may be arranged in advance. The exact arrival time and meeting location will be confirmed closer to the event.
