The Vascular Care Group's Lowell Office Welcomes Dr. Sahil Mehta, Prostate Artery Embolization Specialist
S For Story/10705351
LOWELL, Mass. - s4story -- The Vascular Care Group (TVCG) is proud to announce that Sahil Mehta, MD, a Board-certified interventional and diagnostic radiologist, has begun seeing patients at its Lowell, Massachusetts Vascular and Vein Center. Dr. Mehta specializes in prostate artery embolization (PAE), a minimally invasive treatment for men with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and brings extensive clinical and academic experience in embolization therapies to patients in the Merrimack Valley and beyond.
BPH, a common condition among older men, can cause frequent urination, urgency, and difficulty fully emptying the bladder. PAE offers eligible patients a minimally invasive, image-guided alternative to surgery, using targeted embolization to shrink the prostate and relieve symptoms without a urinary catheter, hospital stay, or surgical incision.
TVCG's Lowell office operates as a collaborative partnership among Tufts Medicine, Commonwealth Radiology Associates, and TVCG that brings vascular surgery and interventional radiology together under one roof. The partnership gives patients access to a full range of diagnostic and minimally invasive treatment options, from vascular surgery to advanced embolization therapies, in a single outpatient setting.

"I'm excited to bring my expertise in interventional radiology, especially prostate artery embolization and other embolization therapies, to the Vascular Care Group and to patients throughout the Northeast," said Dr. Mehta. "Operating out of the Lowell office allows me to offer patients expert care in the comfort of a state-of-the-art, outpatient space."
A Harvard-trained physician, Dr. Mehta brings more than a decade of experience in interventional radiology to the Lowell location. He earned his medical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and completed his residency and fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Massachusetts General Hospital, both affiliated with Harvard Medical School. He is board certified in interventional and diagnostic radiology by the American Board of Radiology. Before joining the Lowell team, Dr. Mehta served on faculty at Harvard Medical School and built one of the largest prostate artery embolization programs in the Northeast at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where he treated thousands of patients and trained fellow physicians in prostate artery embolization. His broader practice spans embolization therapies, venous disease interventions, portal interventions, peripheral vascular disease, and interventional oncology, and his contributions to patient care have earned him recognition, including the BID-Needham CARE Award and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center's Excellence in Patient Service Award.
