ST. PAUL, Minn. - s4story -- Dr. Artika R. Tyner has received many well-deserved accolades for her work. She has now been named a finalist as Female Executive of the Year 2023 in the premier Stevie® Awards for Women in Business.
Now in its 20th year, the Stevie® Awards is one of the most coveted around the globe.
The award honors women entrepreneurs, executives, employees and the organizations they operate. More than 1,600 nominations from 26 nations were received this year encompassing 10 categories. The awards will be presented during a celebratory banquet in New York City on Friday, Nov. 10, 2023. The award presentations will be broadcast via Livestream.
Created in 2002, the award honors and generates public recognition of the achievements and positive contributions of organizations and professionals worldwide.
Tyner is the founder of Planting People Growing Justice™ Leadership Institute (PLGJLI). She's a Stevie® Award finalist in the category of Government or Non-Profit with 10 or less employees. PPGJLI is committed to inspiring and equipping the next generation of leaders through the arts, humanities and education. The organization seeks to create social change through education, training and community outreach.

Through PPGJLI, Tyner has initiated a variety of programs and activities that includes writing contests, anthologies, children's book awards, STEAM leadership, read aloud events, Black Doll Project, school visits, book giveaways, and a variety of seminars and workshops.
Tyner also launched the Planting People Growing Justice Press and Bookstore (https://www.ppgjbooks.com/), to foster a love of reading that features diverse authors and serves the BIPOC community. Books focus on leadership development, cultural appreciation and exploration.
