'A New Thing' by Vine Publishing author Lydia Lucas is a relatable story of healing after heartbreak and disappointment
NEW YORK - s4story -- At one point or another, the average single woman will wonder, "Will I ever find true love?"
Finding "the one" is even harder during the COVID-19 pandemic, as social distancing keeps people from mixing and mingling.
In the meantime, more couples are breaking up and finding themselves single again after a year of tough losses.
In Vine Publishing's newest book, one author and ministry leader is offering her take on how God helps us overcome the pain, rejection and shame of broken relationships.
"A New Thing: Finding True Love after Heartbreak and Disappointment" by Lydia Lucas was written for anyone who has experienced heartache and tears over a relationship gone wrong.
In the book, the author – once a young single mom searching for true love in Spanish Harlem -- shares her own story and relatable love lessons with honesty, humor, and wit.

A New Thing is ultimately a faith journey written to remind readers that even when it does not look like it or feel like it, God is faithful to His promises. Even in one's deepest, darkest moments, God is doing His work to shape, guide, and create "a new thing" within.
Reviewers have called A New Thing "beautifully written," "engaging," "unflinchingly honest," and "unapologetically transparent."
Selah founder Rev. Tracy Galloway said the book is something everyone can relate to.
"Lydia takes us on a fantastic journey to empathize with and possibly relate to a messy life turned right side up," she said.
Pastor Ivette Valdez of CDA Poplar said the book filled her with "so much hope, laughter and tears."
