PORT ORCHARD, Wash. - s4story -- Frederic and Cassandra are enamored with an old Victorian house located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains outside their town. When the two long-time companions hike there intending to have a look inside, they are unexpectedly captured and held hostage by three men. Esther, who is missing her son, scours the neighborhood looking for him and arrives at Al Sanborn's, Frederic's best friend. Overhearing his parents talking to Esther, and realizing Frederic is missing, Al puts two and two together. He, with his six closest comrades synchronize, don their balaclavas and hike into the hills at dusk to find and help their missing friends. Al's mission is successful, and everyone is back home and safe, or are they?
Now things continue to escalate for Frederic and his secret club members. As Halloween approaches, the little town is swarming with festive activities, while the local police organize a search for a murderer. Determined to keep their clubhouse, Frederic, with his friends, must find who is behind the kidnapping, who killed their neighbor, and why this is happening in Cary. As the story unfolds, they discover an age-old secret about the Sinister House and why such a criminal network reaching from Washington DC is using it. Facing incredible odds, the boys carry on their pursuit to discover the truth, as the final debacle at their beloved Sinister House will determine how much strength of will, determination, and courage they possess.
