Annual gathering marks 42 years of uniting voices for environmental protection
STUART, Fla. - s4story -- The Everglades Coalition will bring together environmental leaders and stakeholders for its 42nd annual conference Jan. 28-30, 2027, at the Signia Hilton Naples Grande Beach Resort in Naples. This year's theme, "Uniting for America's Everglades: Protecting Our Investment," emphasizes the collective commitment needed to safeguard the Greater Everglades ecosystem and preserve gains made through decades of restoration efforts.
Significant investments have advanced efforts to restore the Everglades and protect its interconnected lands and waterways. Continued collaboration is essential to build on those gains while confronting ongoing threats, including development pressures on environmentally sensitive lands.
An alliance of nearly 60 local, state and national conservation and environmental organizations, the Everglades Coalition convenes its annual conference to educate, inform and bring together stakeholders around the priorities shaping the future of America's Everglades.

"We've made significant investments in the Everglades and protecting that progress requires the same commitment that made it possible," said Mark Perry, co-chair of the Everglades Coalition and executive director of the Florida Oceanographic Society. "The 2027 conference will bring people together around a shared goal: prioritizing lasting progress for the lands, waters and communities that we've spent decades fighting to restore."
"Protecting our investment in Everglades restoration means protecting the lands and waters that make restoration possible," said Lauren Jonaitis, co-chair of the Everglades Coalition and executive director of Tropical Audubon Society. "By bringing together science, advocacy and community voices, we can turn our shared commitment into action and ensure the progress we make today endures for future generations."
The three-day conference will feature discussions spanning science, policy, education and advocacy, covering issues critical to the health and resilience of the Greater Everglades ecosystem. Attendees include conservationists, contractors, scientists, educators, students, media and concerned citizens, as well as decisionmakers from federal, state, local and tribal governments. The annual gathering remains the largest forum for discussing Everglades restoration progress, challenges and opportunities.
