Thrifty Senior Traveler Launches New Website to Help Older Travelers Save Money
S For Story/10700193
LOS ANGELES - s4story -- A new website designed to provide senior travelers with current information about money-saving travel opportunities has launched.
ThriftySeniorTraveler will highlight discounts, special offers and money-saving programs available across the United States and around the world, along with travel ideas, tips and information designed specifically for older travelers.
"I've been traveling internationally since I was 17," explains Jesse Slome, the 73-year-old creator of the website. "At that time, finding bargains and saving money was a financial necessity. Today, it just makes traveling that much more pleasurable."
"There are incredible last-minute deals offered by leading tour companies and cruise operators trying to attract more travelers," Slome explains. "The goal will be to create an independent resource where seniors can find these opportunities, along with other ways to have great trips without spending more than necessary."
More on S For Story
Slome recently returned from spending three weeks touring New York City. "New York City has bargains galore for senior visitors," Slome said. "From half-price Metro fares if you obtain a senior card in advance to free access to some of the city's top museums, there are plenty of little-known opportunities to enjoy what New York is known for without breaking the bank."
The website's content will be based heavily on Slome's own travel experiences. He recently completed visiting his seventh continent with a half-priced, last-minute trip to Antarctica.
"But I'll also be looking for ideas from other thrifty-minded seniors," he adds. "There are people out there who have figured out some pretty clever ways to travel well without spending a fortune. I want to share those ideas."
The new website will continue to expand with destination information, travel tips, discounts, special offers, personal travel experiences and other resources for older travelers.
