S For Story/10706273
Patent approval for L-Tron's Mobile Driver's License Reader (mDLR-1) signifies the company's continued commitment to serving the public safety community with purpose-built, cutting-edge technology.
ROCHESTER, N.Y. - s4story -- L-Tron is proud to announce that the company has been awarded a patent for their Mobile Driver's License Reader (mDLR-1), which allows officers to read both mobile driver's licenses and physical IDs at traffic stops. Patent #12,711,343.
Designed from law enforcement feedback, the mDLR-1 meets ISO 18013-5-standards to ensure global interoperability and is designed to prioritize a patrol officer's situational awareness and safety. The approval of U.S. Patent No. 12,711,343 strengthens L-Tron's position as a leader in law enforcement technology.
More about L-Tron's mDL Reader (mDLR-1)
The approval of L-Tron's mDLR-1 patent follows years of research, engineering, and design by the L-Tron team. L-Tron's mDLR-1 is purpose-built to interact with mobile driver licenses at traffic stops without an officer having to touch a motorist's phone.

The mDLR-1 prioritizes situational awareness with its simple, functional design. Key considerations were made to design the product for the patrol officer, including the ability to use the product with gloves and in inclement weather, a built-in flashlight and camera. The mDLR-1 is designed for seamless integration into the patrol vehicle's environment, including working with an officer's existing eCitation software/RMS.
"Over twenty years ago, we began partnering with law enforcement agencies to meet their technology needs," says Trevor DiMarco, L-Tron president and CEO. "Throughout the years, we have continued to focus on the products and features that truly matter to officers. Our team conducted interviews with the law enforcement community as we developed and shaped the mDLR-1 device that we are proud of today. The approval of our mDLR-1 patent solidifies our position as a technology leader in the public safety space, and we look forward to strengthening our partnerships with law enforcement agencies for years to come."
