Daylon Graphics releases Leveller 5.0
S For Story/10701484
Introduces heightfield layers for non-destructive editing, improving workflows and increasing creativity
SURREY, British Columbia - s4story -- The Daylon Leveller heightfield/terrain modeler has been updated to version 5.0, supporting non-destructive editing with the introduction of heightfield layers, their number limited only by available memory. Both the efficiency and flexibility of modeling should be well enhanced.
The document format has been updated to store layer data and uses RLE compression to save disk space. Memory requirements for single-layer documents are unchanged.
Reference shapes (not to be confused with reference heightfields) are no longer supported as the newer 3D Objects feature introduced in Leveller 4.4 is meant to replace it and will receive ongoing improvements.

"Leveller 5.0 shipped in August 2026." administrator Ray Gardener explains. "Its price is $99.95 USD, double that of version 4.4, but an adjustment for inflation was long overdue. Leveller 4.4 will reach end of life on January 1, 2027 but until then will remain available at its existing price, and bug fixes made in 5.0 will be backported to 4.4 when applicable."
Registered Leveller 4.4 users can upgrade to 5.0 for the difference in price ($50). More information is available at https://www.daylongraphics.com
